On this International Women’s Day we recall the fact that across the world, too many women continue to be unseen, under-protected and under-paid members of their societies. In many developing countries women  and girls toil in paddy-fields or on barren plots, or  take on petty trading on city streets to feed themselves and  their families, while too often they are denied access to the land, property, credit or inheritance that could improve their lives. 08.07.2008 - UNDP/PAPP launches its mid –term strategic framework jointly with the Ministry of Planning

Ramallah - H.E. Dr. Samir Abdullah, Minister of Planning, and Mr. Jens Toyberg-Frandzen, UNDP/PAPP Special Representative of the Administrator, announced the mid-term strategic framework 2008 - 2011 for the United Nations’ Development Programme in the oPt, on Tuesday, July 08, 2008. With this framework, UNDP/PAPP reinforces its commitment to supporting socio-economic development in the oPt, exploring new approaches, and drawing on its corporate capacities and strategic partnerships.

24.04.2008 - Government of Italy and UNDP Inaugurate the Northern Wing of Princes Alia Hospital in Hebron

Jerusalem - The Palestinian Ministry of Health, the Italian Consulate in Jerusalem, and the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) inaugurated the completion of phase two of the development of the Northern Wing at Hebron Hospital on Thursday, April 24, 2008. The project was implemented by UNDP with a US$ 7.0 million contribution from the Government of Italy.

 

09.01.2008 - Japan and UNDP/PAPP inaugurate Rehabilitation Works in Jenin

Mr. Tetsushi Condo, the Japanese Representative to the Palestinian Authority; Mr. Hikmat Zid, President’s Advisor for Governor’s Affairs, Eng. Fadel Kawash, Head of the Palestinian Water Authority, Mr. Moneer Jaradat, Head of the Joint Services Council for Jenin western villages; and Mrs. Rima Abu Middain, Natural Capital Team Leader, accompanied by members of the Zbouba village council inaugurated a water rehabilitation project in Zbouba village in Jenin on Wednesday, 09 January, at 11:00 am.
